Los Angeles–based independent powerhouse Stones Throw Records celebrates its 30th anniversary with a special Japan tour featuring four of its defining artists.
The lineup includes label founder and legendary DJ Peanut Butter Wolf, Grammy-winning producer Knxwledge of NxWorries (Anderson .Paak & Knxwledge), multi-talented artist Mndsgn, and rising soul/R&B singer Michi, who will make her Japan debut on this tour.
The Tokyo show will take place on June 6 (Sat) at Shibuya Spotify O-EAST (MIDNIGHT EAST), bringing together the past, present, and future of the Stones Throw universe.
Since its founding in 1996, Stones Throw has been home to groundbreaking artists such as Madlib, J Dilla, MF DOOM, NxWorries (Anderson .Paak & Knxwledge), Mayer Hawthorne, and Aloe Blacc. Over three decades, the label has built a global reputation for pushing musical boundaries across hip-hop, soul, funk, electronic, and beyond.
Peanut Butter Wolf will make his first Japan appearance since 2018, performing a special “Stones Throw 30 Years” Video DJ set — a unique audiovisual experience blending rare footage from the label’s archives with music spanning its history.
Each artist will present exclusive performances and new material, with the Tokyo show taking place in a multi-floor club format centered around DJs and beat-driven sets.
The tour will also feature a special collaboration with West Coast brand HUF, with a limited-edition T-shirt set to be released to commemorate the Japan tour.

Peanut Butter Wolf / ピーナッツ・バター・ウルフ（Stones Throw | Los Angeles）
1996年に〈Stones Throw〉を設立し、数々の革新的アーティストを発掘・輩出。30年にわたり世界中の音楽ファンに影響を与え続けてきた。
90年代初頭からDJ／プロデューサーとして活動を開始し、現在も第一線で活躍。世界屈指のレコードコレクターとしても知られ、〈Stones Throw〉におけるヴァイナルリリースへの強いこだわりを体現している。7インチ・オンリーのパーティ「45 Live」を世界各地で展開するなど、レコードカルチャーの発信者としても知られる。
また、膨大なアーカイブから選び抜いた映像と音楽を融合させる“Video DJ set”のパイオニアとしても知られ、唯一無二のオーディオビジュアル体験を世界中で届けている。
2014年にはレーベルの軌跡を追ったドキュメンタリー映画『Our Vinyl Weighs A Ton』が公開され、カニエ・ウェストやクエストラブ、コモンらが出演し話題を呼んだ。また、ヒップホップ・グループA Tribe Called Questのドキュメンタリー映画において音楽スーパーバイザーも務めている。2018年にはロサンゼルスに初のレコードバー〈Gold Line〉をオープンし、ローカルカルチャーの発信拠点として支持を集めている。
Peanut Butter Wolf is the founder of Stones Throw Records, which he established in 1996. Over the past three decades, he has discovered and developed groundbreaking artists, shaping the sound of independent music and influencing audiences worldwide.
He began DJing and producing in the early 1990s and remains active at the forefront of global music culture. Widely regarded as one of the world’s foremost record collectors, he is known for his deep commitment to vinyl and his role in preserving and advancing record culture, including hosting the 7-inch–only party series “45 Live” in cities around the world.
He is also a pioneer of the Video DJ set, a unique audiovisual performance style that blends music with rare footage selected from his extensive archive. His sets deliver a one-of-a-kind experience that bridges sound and visual culture.
In 2014, the documentary film Our Vinyl Weighs A Ton: This Is Stones Throw Records was released, featuring appearances by Kanye West, Questlove, and Common. He also served as music supervisor for the documentary film on A Tribe Called Quest. In 2018, he opened Gold Line, a record bar in Los Angeles that has become a key hub for the local music community.
Knxwledge / ノレッジ（NxWorries | Stones Throw | Los Angeles）
ロサンゼルスと東京を拠点に活動するヒップホップ・プロデューサー／ビートメーカー、Knxwledge（ノレッジ）。
LAのビートシーンで頭角を現し、2015年に〈Stones Throw〉からデビューアルバム『Hud Dreems』をリリース。同年、ケンドリック・ラマーのアルバム『To Pimp A Butterfly』収録曲「Momma」をプロデュースし、同作はグラミー賞「ベスト・ラップ・アルバム」を受賞。以降、Joey Bada$$、Earl Sweatshirt、Action Bronsonらとのコラボレーションを通じて、現代ヒップホップを代表するプロデューサーの一人としての地位を確立した。
2020年にはセカンドアルバム『1988』を発表し、ソウルフルかつ緻密なビートでその世界観をさらに深化させた。

Knxwledge is a Los Angeles- and Tokyo-based hip-hop producer and beatmaker, widely recognized as one of the leading figures in today’s beat scene.
He gained early recognition in Los Angeles and released his debut album Hud Dreems on Stones Throw Records in 2015. That same year, he produced “Momma” on Kendrick Lamar’s Grammy-winning album To Pimp a Butterfly. Since then, he has collaborated with artists including Joey Bada$$, Earl Sweatshirt, and Action Bronson, establishing himself as a defining producer in modern hip-hop.
In 2020, he released his second album 1988, further refining his signature sound of soulful, intricate beats.
He is also one half of NxWorries (Anderson .Paak & Knxwledge). Their second album Why Lawd? (2024) won the 2025 Grammy Award for Best Progressive R&B Album, solidifying his global recognition.
Beyond his studio work, Knxwledge maintains a strong online presence through Bandcamp releases and live streaming on Twitch and Discord, connecting directly with fans worldwide.
He has also contributed music to Street Fighter 6, expanding his creative reach into gaming culture. Blending hip-hop, internet culture, and gaming, Knxwledge continues to push his unique artistic vision forward.

Mndsgn / マインドデザイン（Stones Throw | Los Angeles）
LAシーンを代表するシンガーソングライター／プロデューサー／ビートメーカー、Mndsgn（マインドデザイン）。
10代からビートメイキングを始め、〈Stones Throw〉から『Yawn Zen』『Body Wash』『Rare Pleasure』の3作を発表。現在ではレーベルを象徴するアーティストの一人として確固たる地位を築いている。
ヒップホップを軸に、ソウル、ファンク、R&B、ジャズなど多様な要素を独自の感性で融合。卓越したリズム感と印象的なメロディ、遊び心あふれるスタイルで、唯一無二の音楽世界を生み出している。音楽制作にとどまらず、アートワークも自ら手掛けることで、その世界観をさらに深化させている。
2021年のアルバム『Rare Pleasure』では、初のバンド編成によるレコーディングに挑戦。ボーカリスト、ソングライター、アレンジャーとしての進化を示し、より豊かで有機的なサウンドを提示した。

Mndsgn (pronounced Mind Design), born Ringgo Ancheta, is a Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter, producer, and beatmaker, widely recognized as one of the defining artists of Stones Throw Records.
He began making beats as a teenager and has released three albums on the label—Yawn Zen (2014), Body Wash (2016), and Rare Pleasure (2021)—establishing his distinctive voice within the LA music scene.
Blending hip-hop with elements of soul, funk, R&B, and jazz, Mndsgn creates a unique musical world defined by rich melodies, intricate rhythms, and a playful, genre-fluid approach. Beyond music, he also designs his own artwork, further shaping his cohesive artistic vision.
His album Rare Pleasure marked a significant evolution, featuring his first full-band recording and highlighting his growth as a vocalist, songwriter, and arranger, with a more organic and expansive sound.
In addition to his solo work, he has released numerous beat projects via Bandcamp, including the Snax series, and has produced for a wide range of artists such as Joyce Wrice, SiR, Tyler, The Creator, Danny Brown and Doja Cat.

Michi / ミチ（Stones Throw | Los Angeles）
Michi（Michelle Guerrero）は、ロサンゼルスを拠点に活動する、ラテンをルーツに持つソウル／R&Bシンガー。
SadeやErykah Baduに影響を受け、90年代R&Bのノスタルジーと現代的なプロダクションを融合させた、温かく芯のあるサウンドで注目を集めている。
2023年、LAから小さな海辺の町へと拠点を移したことをきっかけに、よりパーソナルで誠実な表現へと深化。自身の物語を率直に描くソウルフルな楽曲で、新たな存在感を示している。
2025年には〈Stones Throw〉からデビュー・アルバム『Dirty Talk』をリリース。Blake Rhein（Durand Jones & The Indications）との共同制作により、クラシックなソウルや80〜90年代R&Bへのリスペクトと、モダンなウェストコーストの感性を融合させた作品となっている。
本ツアーが初の来日公演となり、MndsgnをライブDJに迎えた特別なステージで、そのしなやかでエモーショナルな世界観を日本のオーディエンスに届ける。なお、KnxwledgeおよびMndsgnは、Michiの楽曲のリミックスも手掛けている。
Michi (Michelle Guerrero) is a Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter on Stones Throw Records, bringing a fresh voice to contemporary soul and R&B.
Influenced by artists such as Sade and Erykah Badu, her music blends ’90s R&B nostalgia with modern production, creating a warm, confident, and emotionally resonant sound.
After relocating from Los Angeles to a small coastal town in 2023, Michi’s songwriting became more personal and introspective, shaping a body of work rooted in honesty, self-discovery, and emotional depth.
Her debut album Dirty Talk (2025), produced in collaboration with Blake Rhein (Durand Jones & The Indications), draws from classic soul and ’80s–’90s R&B while maintaining a modern West Coast sensibility.
This tour marks her first-ever live performances in Japan, where she will present a special set with Mndsgn as her live DJ. Both Mndsgn and Knxwledge have also contributed remixes of her music, highlighting the creative connections within the Stones Throw roster.
